Rick's Builds Fence for Vancouver Community Garden
The Rick’s Community Support Drive has completed it’s first service project of 2021 at the Maplewood Moseley Community Garden in Vancouver. In continuing with our mission to support worthwhile projects in the communities we serve, we were so excited to help the UUCV Church and the many other local businesses that came together to make this project a reality. After identifying the needs of this community and their lack of access to nutritious and sustainable foods, the church gave up a portion of their grounds as the foundation of this garden and started contacting local partners to help out. With a need for fencing, they reached out to Rick’s Custom Fencing and Decking and we were thrilled to help them!
With the completion of 300 feet of chain link fencing built by our Community Drive crews, the garden is now ready for the experts to come in and start growing! The crew at UUCV is looking for some exceptional gardeners to help get these plots started. If you are interested in helping out, or leaning more about the Maplewood Moseley Community Garden, you can visit their website HERE. And if you or anyone you know could benefit from access to one of these plots of nutritious vegetables, you can reach out to them via email at [email protected].
